Completely renovated in 2015, Schlosshotel Mondsee offers a unique setting within carefully renovated palace walls in the centre of Mondsee, next to the Basilica of Saint Michael and only a 5-minute walk from the shore of Lake Mondsee. Combining traditional and modern features, Schlosshotel Mondsee occupies Austria’s oldest Benedictine monastery. First mentioned in documents in 748, the monastery was turned into a palace in 1810. The Aichingerwirt is a traditional guesthouse and restaurant dating from 1854. It is 3 km from the town of Mondsee and 1.5 km from the shore of Lake Mondsee. The modern rooms feature a balcony, a flat-screen cable TV, and a bathroom. The restaurant serves traditional Austrian cuisine. Guests can dine in the garden or in the light-flooded winter garden.
