Mit 24.000 Einwohnern ist die Stadt der größte und bekannteste Ferien- und Erholungsort am Balaton. Der Ort erstreckt sich mit vielen Stränden auf über 15 Kilometer am Süd- Ostufer des Plattensees und bietet eine Vielzahl von Cafés, Restaurants und Diskotheken die die Straßen säumen. Siófok bietet seinen Besuchern ein wirklich außergewöhnliches Nachtleben. Zu den Attraktionen zählt die Diskothek Palace (Ezüstpart), die eine der größten in ganz Ungarn ist.
