Spa Vyšné Ružbachy is situated at the foot of the Spišska Magura hills in the elevation of 623 m on the route Poprad-Kežmarok-Prešov, near the High Tatra mountains. The spa origin dates back to 1595, when the first spa building with a pool and social part was built. It was a favoured recreation center of polish and hungarian aristocracy until the second world war. Nowadays the spa features outdoor thermal pool with a capacity of 1500 people as well as a horse riding area. The main attraction of the spa and the whole region is a travertine stonepit with a unique gallery of statues situated in the nature. Apart from the spa care guests can enjoy many hiking trails or take attractive trips to the Tatra mountains, Slovak Paradise, Pieniny and Poland. There are also many interesting historical and architectural sights such as Mansion Strážky, Ľubovňa castle, Spiš castle, Levoča etc. situated nearby. Beautifull crosscountry trails and 8 ski lifts are accesible in the surroundings as well. For spa guests service of a ski bus is available. The basis of a spa treatment are the natural, light mineralized, hydrocarbonated, calcic-magnesic, hypotonic healing waters with a temperature of 23°C, which are heated up to 38°C and used for spa treatments. Mineral springs enriched with calium, calcium, magnesium and lithium are used for drinking procedures. Part of a complex care are not only balneohydrotherapeutic and balneophysiatric treatments, but also a complex system of psychotherapeutic care, cardiovascular rehabilitation or formation of healthy habits by patients. Local climate conditions and natural environment are also very helpfull for a successfull treatment. Treated indications: diseases of circulatory apparatus, nontuberculous diseases of respiratory tract, recuperation after oncological treatment, nerve diseases, locomotive apparatus diseases. Offered treatments: watertherapy, physical therapy, psychotherapy, electrotherapy, etc. Spa house features 32 refurbished double bed rooms, which all have own bathroom with bath tub and toilet, SAT TV, telephone, radio and balcony and 42 double bed rooms with an option of an extra bed, own bathroom with bath tub and toilet, SAT TV, telephone, radio and balcony. Reception, receiving office, news stand with souvenirs, hairdresser, gathering room with TV, bike rental and elevators are situated directly in the spa house building, which is connected to the spa house Travertín II with a corridor. The price of a spa stay includes accomodation, full board, entry and final medical examination, prescription of treatments and 17 treatments in 7 days. Minimum lenght of a stay are 7 nights. The price of a relaxation stay includes accomodation, half board, entry and final medical examination, prescription of treatments and 2 treatments per day. Minimum lenght of a stay are 4 nights. The price of accomodation includes accomodation with breakfast.
